THE HOUSE

Dating back to well before 1800, the house was a fisherman’s home for many years but its groundfloor also served as a smithy.

It is now divided into apartments and our two smart self-catering studios, which can be rented all year round for a minimum of 3 nights. In the winter months we offer attractive prices for long stays.

Harbour, local shops, restaurants and the market are just around the corner and you have a choice between 2 child-friendly sandy beaches, only a 5 minute walk away. Free public parking within easy walking distance.

The immediate surroundings offer plenty of fun, visits to historical places, sporting excursions and of course the famous Mediterranean kitchen accompanied by the renowned Languedoc wines.

TYPE OF HOLIDAY

Fisherman's House' is ideal for  those who appreciate watersports, culture, good food, long walks or just lazing about with a good book on the beach.  It is ideal for family holidays because of its two  lovely sandy beaches. The water in the lagoon remains shallow for a long stretch, so it is perfect for small children. In summer Mèze and its surrounding towns offer a choice of musical festivals and there are plenty of activities for the children (see 'Things to do').  The harbour restaurants and cafés offer a romantic backdrop for couples, so Mèze is really a good choice for all ages.
WHERE?

On the shore of the Mediterranean, the Thau lagoon (or 'Étang de Thau' as it is officially called)  is set in the lovely Languedoc-Roussillon, now referred to as 'Occitanie'.  It is a sunny, sheltered part of the Mediterranean, closed off from the open sea but connected to it by the famous Canal du Midi. Small authentic and charming villages of fishermen, oyster-farmers  and wine-growers have preserved their character. Mèze is located about 25 km SW of Montpellier.
